In July the authenticity of some specimen blue garden and meadow flowers are close to ultramarine. In other months, like the depths of winter, reverting back to images of these can almost read as ‘fake’. Our colour senses and light levels are overwhelmed by the depth of the colour spectrum. In exploration of this we are kicking off a new series with some very true blue native flowers first. Featured : Agapanthus (from Cornwall), Sea Holly / Eryngium (from Little Tew), Cornflowers (from Chadlington), Papaver (from Kingham).
