Colour Book : Lavender Blue

Christmas decor and preparations are a welcome distraction from the gloomy days this month, but now as Autumn fades we are all craving some colour around here. With designs in development for 2020 we are busy creating bespoke schemes for different gardens and landscapes. Each carries it’s own unique style and all will adhere to their own signature colour palettes, so creating parameters that we work within. This week we are looking at lavender blue.

The colour lavender might be described as a medium purple or a light pinkish purple. The term lavender may be used in general to apply to a wide range of pale, light or greyish purples but only on the blue side. Lilac is pale purple on the pink side. We find that colours in this spectrum can be applied to both modern and classical styles with the right plant combinations. As well as florals you find tones of lavender in stone, wood, water, foliage and differing lights. Here’s some of our colour inspiration from the week ~
